Lapis Lazuli teaches the power of the spoken word. How many of us grew up hearing “Sticks and stones may break your bones, but words will ever hurt you”? That could not be further from the truth. Words are powerful and they have the ability to create great joy or cause extreme pain. They have the ability to create or destroy dreams. Meditate with Lapis for a greater understanding of the power of your own words. Lapis Lazuli also teaches us how to hear with discernment. Sometimes the words that are spoken to us are not easy for us to hear. Wearing Lapis as ear rings, or around the neck if you don’t wear ear rings, helps us to hear the message behind the words.
Pair Lapis with Rose Quartz if you know you are going to be in an environment where hostile words may be exchanged. Lapis will help you hear the meaning behind the words. Rose quartz will temper the hostility so that you feel unconditional love (even if it is only from yourself) despite the words that are flowing.
When Aeolus and I (Kay) think of Lapis, we think of Egypt. In ancient times, Egyptian makeup, jewelry and artwork often came from Lapis. But Lapis does not come from Egypt, it comes from Afghanistan, Peru and Chili. These stones were used as stones of barter for Egyptian spices and other goods. The Egyptians were masters at trade.
If you are in business, pair Lapis with Citrine to create trade and bring abundance into your environment. You can put them in your cash register drawer, carry them in your wallet, or place them on your desk. Where will you put your Lapis and Citrine?
Much Love and Crystal Blessings,
Kay Langley and Aeolus Crowlaw
